About

The Atlantic Whale Foundation is a volunteer- led charity dedicated to protecting whales and dolphins of Tenerife. We have picked out four bottlenose dolphins and four pilot whales that have the most distinct fins and that are spotted most often off the shore of Tenerife for you to adopt.  Volunteers at AWF work on the whale watching boats everyday to spot these whales and report to you what they these amazing animals have been up to. The information we post here includes fin shots of the whales, pictures of them with their pod, their behavior, their interaction with the boat and videos of them underwater filmed by our film crew: the Rib Team.

This blog is primarily dedicated bringing you information about the whale or dolphin that you have adopted so that you can follow their stories as as they unfold. Read up on their individual stories on the links above.

An adoption pack that we sell on the boats includes post cards, greeting cards, posters, stickers, fact sheets, certificates and loads of other exciting products relating to the pilot whale or dolphin that you have adopted. All profits are used to fund our save the whale campaign, which includes projects here in Tenerife but also with blue whales in Sri Lanka and humpback whales in Sierra Leone. You can read up on our Save the Whale campaign on the links above.
